What we choose to protect

What we believe

To start

de-press is a non-profit platform for quiet emotional support. We believe everyone deserves to be heard and understood.

They are not rules for the sake of rules. They are the boundaries that keep this place quiet.

T h e r e i s n o h u r r y h e r e .

Here is what that means in practice.

01 /

Let stories
remain stories,
not scores

A difficult experience is not a competition. Public likes and ratings are not hidden here — they don't exist in the data model at all.

02 /

Leave room
for quiet
support

Someone else's story is not an invitation to a heated debate. Sometimes quiet participation is enough — shown in reactions only the author can see.

03 /

Consent
comes before
conversation

A dialogue doesn't exist until its author opens it. Voice notes are deleted when the conversation closes — only an explicit choice keeps them.

04 /

No pretending
to be

AI, when used, is clearly identified. It does not diagnose, impersonate a human or replace human support.

05 /

Keep sensitive
things close

Self-help practices live right in your browser, in IndexedDB, and are never sent to the server. The server knows nothing about them.

06 /

Choose people
over metrics
and growth

There is no analytics, no metrics, no ads and no fingerprinting in the code. The project doesn't need to hold your attention, so there is nothing about you for it to measure.

07 /

Know our
limits

This is not an emergency service. In a crisis, the right next step is real-world emergency help, not an app.

08 /

Be present
without pretending

A Helper is there to listen, not to pose as a doctor. Therapy here comes only from living people: payment goes directly, wallet to wallet, and the platform is not a middleman.

09 /

Explain what
we do

We are fully transparent.
Anyone can read the code and, if they wish, run their own copy of the platform. We don't keep personal data without the user knowing.

There is always room for people who know how to listen

How to help

We hear
you

Not every story needs an answer. Sometimes it's enough to simply speak up, put your feelings into words and be heard without judgment.
